September and October.... Gone in a FLASH!

October was Lukes month to shine (so far)! He just is getting more and more fun as the months go by! The daycare i work at had a professional photographer come in for the kids Fall pictures, we got a discount.. so i decided even if it was a horrible experience because he was grouchy or wouldn't cooperate it would be worth it just to have that memory. But to my amazement he was a natural!!! The photographer actually took way more pictures then he needed. He just kept asking me if he could take a few more. Every picture was all SMILES! What a little HAM! 6 Month luke has been a blast but i am looking forward to my little 7 month old luke! Which he has now been since the 7th of this month! He has been pretty grouchy for a while now because of his teething.... but finally last tueday (november the 3rd) i saw that he had a tooth break through the gums, right in the front! EXCITING!

MY 25Th BIRTHDAY We went to the pirate restaurant in Orem. It was pretty neat. The food was good and fun. Then we dropped little lukey off for a night at grandmas so that we could go to the shinedown concert. It was so much! The best birthday that i have had yet!!!!! It was so much fun to spend time with my beautiful family!

Being a mommy has brought me some of the best times and some of the

September And October Luke (mike and i) got to spend a lot of time at grandmas ( if you talk to her it wasnt nearly enough! Ha Ha!)

Luke was a white tiger and a monkey for halloween. i bought the monkey
costume at "the children's place" in september, size 6 month. Which what he was in october. But by the time came to put it on... it didn't Velcro at the bottom or on his little hood.... so i got him a cheap cozy pj like costume from walmart.

It is so hard to blog and update evey one on what is going on when you have a 5 month old, working and waking up at four in the morning to get ready and just living day to day!
So yes i am working now... i currently work at a daycare, it is nice because i get to bring Luke for free ( daycare is OUTRAGEOUS!) and i can check up on him when ever i want! I am in the room right next to him so i can hear how long he cries until someone picks him up. :)
Luke is doing great, he is a ton happier! the colic last till about 3 1/2 to 4 months! He is still pretty grouchy when he gets sleepy and throws fits, but who doesn't get grouchy? He has been smiling for about a month now and has been laughing hard for about 3 weeks! He is rolling over from his tummy to his back but he has to be really angry to do it!:) He loves colors and watching the dogs run around...
He is teething already and has been for about 3 weeks. BUT i took him into the old pediatric dentist i worked for today and asked her if it is possible for babies first teeth to not be the bottom ones in the middle, she said yes but it is uncommon. So she put a glove on and just like i thought he will be most likely getting one of his back ones first on his right side....WEIRD. But if anything is going to be odd and different with a child, it will be with LUKE!
He is just getting over bronchitis ... it has been so sad... he still has a cough but it is getting better. he had to be put on a nebulizer, a steroid, and some antibiotics. We still do breathing treatments. We didnt catch it in time until it got way bad because the pediatrican i was taking him to since he got home from the NICU kept saying his lungs sound fine and the cough is just from the milk in the back of his throat, well after 2 1/2 months of that crap i took him to an other pediatrican here i town. she was so shocked that we hadnt gotten meds for him sooner.... that made me so mad! now i know to ALWAYS rely on my motherly instinct! But now every time i tell people about that doctor and my experience with him, they also have a HORROR story about him!!!:)
Other than that our home is good, our animals are adapting nicely to having luke around and i wish i could get more sleep...lol!
LUKES BLESSING
We blessed luke on july 5th. We had a lot of people show up, family and close friends!
It was beautiful....Michael did such a wonderful job with the blessing!Luke was actually a good boy and didnt cry!:) Both of our families helped out a lot for the special occasion!!!!

I had a besuitful shower that was given for me by my sister and friend sharlet, but my ward insisted on giving me one too! It was alot of fun! we played games, talked, and just enjoyed our time together.

I haven't written in such a long time so i have much to update everyone on.
Well i am now a mother of a Handsome baby boy he was born on April 7th at 3:21. He was 4 Lbs and 14oz and was 17 3/4 inches long.His birth was not at all what i had expected. Luke was 6 weeks early almost 8 weeks but thanks to the doctors at IMC and strict bed rest they ordered me to be on... helped me carry Luke to a healthy 34 weeker.
On Wednesday May 25th right before mike got home i had some " Gushing". Usually you hear women who are pregnant often "pee" when they sneeze or laugh, but i wasn't doing either. It happened 3 times so i called the on call doctor for my doctors office. The Doctor who was on call was a complete jerk... i told him what happened and he said well it could be your water or you could have just peed your pants! so when mike got home i was pretty freaked out, but was sure that it was most definintly NOT my water!
I just really didn't want to pay our co-pay for the ER just to hear them say..."YOU PEED YOUR PANTS" but we went anyway to the ER here in town.
I was sent to the labor and delivery.... to make a long story short i was ruptured and the hospital in town didn't have a NICU.So i was supposed to be air flighted to the hospital in murray, but it was snowing so bad that i went via ambulance. That was quite the experience. I didnt have any bags packed or any arrangements for the dogs quite yet. so i was pretty upset.... just cause i wasn't organized or ready.
So when i arrived at IMC it was 1 in the morning, they did tons of tests on me and gave me steroids for lukes lungs.... just in case he was to be delivered quickly. The plan was to keep luke in for two weeks, so that he could develop more.
So i had to stay in the hospital for two weeks, the good news was i did not develop an infection so i was able to go the two weeks. My days included getting an ultrasound every day, chatting with the nurses, eating hospital food, two wheel chair rides a day... and so much more...lol.
I was given potocin to induce my labor at 5:00 the morning on the 7th.... everything was going well until about 2, when my epidural seemed to stop working. Mike called in the nurse and she got me to sit up so that gravity would help it work...as soon as i sat up i couldn't breath (SCARY)...i was put on oxygen. All of a sudden lukes heart rate dropped down to 60. After that it was like a scene from a movie, i was given a briefing on the complications with an emergency c-section then rolled out of the room quickly. Mike was thrown the garments he had to wear in the operating room as we rushed down the hall way. When we were in the room i was given more drugs so that i could not feel anything..plus a few other drugs.... which caused me to convulse and tense up horribly! I barely remember much after luke was taken. They immediately took him to check him out.
I was wheeled back to the recovery room, i really couldn' t talk because of all the drugs. Mike got to see luke about 3 hoursafter he was born. He was perfect. on the APGAR he got a 7 then one minute later he got a 9. He didn't even need to be put on oxygen! Which was a huge surprise. He had an IV put in his umbilical cord and had a feeding tube in his nose. i didnt get to see him until the next morning. But when i did it was the most amazing thing! I was a mommy!
I got to go home 4 days after i had luke but luke just came home on monday the 4th. He spent almost a month in the NICU.
It was really hard to go home without him. I went into the hospital everyday to visit, which was emotionally draining! but he is now 4 weeks and 2 days old.... he is healthy and happy! Mike took monday-Wednesday off and My mom came last night and will be here till monday. Mike and i are just so blessed... we have seen Heavenly Fathers hand in our lives through all of this, financially, emotionally, and physically... it was and is truly amazing to look back and see all of our blessings! I am so grateful to all the people who came and visited and all the prayers that went our way! There is the update for now....

It has been hard for us to tell people (with our track record and all)..so that is why it is so far into the pregnancy... on that note we are so excited to share the news with our friends and family! we are both so Grateful for this wonderful blessing that Heavenly Father has given us. We have had lots of Patience waiting for this little Guy! Having the realization that everything is in "Heavenly Fathers Time" and that everything that happens is for a reason has really helped us in having patience! We went to get our 18 week ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having a BOY! We could not be HAPPIER! When the ultrasound tech was looking at everything, she asked " so do you guys want to know what it is?" Of course us being first time parents and me being one who needs to be ready for things and be ORGANIZED...We had to find out..... It was no Secret there...." HE has Outdoor PLUMBING!" she said! Mike and i both started to cry. That was such a fun moment! Even though i know its a boy and i even bought the little guy some cute clothes yesterday, and the fact that my clothes are starting to get really tight.....it is so hard to believe that we have come this far, that we will be parents! i just am so THRILLED at the idea! I guess i wont really truly believe all of this until i cant sleep at night because he is kicking me in my ribs...lol!
ON OTHER NEWS.........
Mike had his 25th Birthday in August!
We went white water rafting on a Friday and on Saturday we spent the day wake boarding with my family...minus dad...
It was a ton of fun! that is one of mikes most favorite activities! Anything that has Boarding tact to the end is enjoyed GREATLY by Him!

Other Fun stuff....
Molly and Toby had puppies together... lets just say the breeding of Dogs is not for the faint of heart... but the outcome is so much fun! Toby enjoyed the first part but most definitely dislikes the puppies! He is so scared of them, with good reason though molly is quite the little fighter!She had 2 girls and 1 boy. They are now 6 weeks old and all have new wonderful homes waiting for them! they will be heading out in 2 weeks.... good luck new families... Jack Russells are the best!

To play catch up some more, for my birthday back in September we went to a big concert they have here in Utah called the X96 BASH! It was so much fun especially since it was not only mike and i but we took sam and mikes older brother dave and his friend with us! It was Sams first concert! we had seats because i had just found out i was pregnant a couple of weeks earlier...so no pit for us! The bands that played were Shiny Toy Guns, Atreyu, Jack's Mannequin , Hawthorne Heights, Trapt, Mindless Self Indulgence, Local H, Ludo, The Brobecks and Ten Years... it was a great Experience and Memory! I love going to shows!

In October Discount Tire always has a company party! It is a very formal event. This year it was held at the hilton. there is ALWAYS great food, dancing, and other fun! This event is always within days of our anniversary, so we celebrate part of it there....getting dressed up, free gourmet food, dancing till the wee hours of the night and getting to sleep on the wonderful hilton beds...what more can a girl want for an anniversary? :)

And that's all the news for now.... hopefully i wont wait months to blog and then have to play catch up AGAIN!

So those of you i talk to on a regular basis know that my husband mike works for Discount Tire Here in Utah. He has been with them for over 6 years and loves it! he worked there before and after the mission. As long as i have been with mike, discount has been so generous with families and other opportunities! They are such a wonderful company. They expect a lot from their employees but each person is greatly rewarded! just last a couple of weeks ago, mike had the discount tire NASCAR at his store, they got to do burnouts and doughnuts in the parking lot! lol! I was Excited for him, but only mike would be ECSTATIC! What other company would let you take out a REAL NASCAR and have fun? Thats just a silly example of how fun this company is! I love how they always promote from with in the company!
Just this last week he got a Promotion. He was an assistant manager for the West Valley store but he just got transferred to the Bountiful Store which is only a 10 more min commute... so a total of 35 min! not bad! plus gas is going down.....:)
His new promotion added a pay raise a week and a ton of responsibility! So at discount tire it goes
1. Tire tech 2. assistant manager 3. Senior manager and 4. MANAGER of a store. Mike has climbed the ladder to Senior Manager. We are really hoping with in the next 5-7 years he will be a manager of his own store making Pretty Darn good money.
Also last week my was released from being over the deacons and he is now the Executive Secretary to the Bishop..... talk about TONS of responsibilities in one week! I am so grateful to have such a worthy husband. His worthiness is my Blessing! Mike loves to sleep in on Sundays, and now he has to get up early to attend the ward corilation meeting and other meetings the bishop is in! lol! Large sacrifice for mike, but miniscule compared to the blessings.

Work for me is going really well. I am still head assistant at my dentist office and loving the responsibilities that come along with it, but i would much rather become a mother and stay home, so yes no news about babies yet guys! hopefully i can post another blog called "BLESSINGS 2" and it would include news about that! But we can only be prayerful to be patient..... all in Heavenly Fathers TIME! :)
I know heavenly father gives us what we can handle and i am grateful for this! I am so grateful for our families and friends! You are also MAJOR BLESSINGS to US! Thank you!

Opportunity and Adoration

About a month ago i was able to volunteer at a golf tournament in benefit for our friend Sam Harrison at Thanksgiving Point. It was a lot of fun. I got there at 7:20 and stayed until 1. Not only did i not know anything about golf (nor did i want to learn), but it was super hot and there were a bunch of silly old drunk men! Even though all those factors were not the funnest things to experience (especially the old drunk guys)... it felt really good to help out our friend. Sam went snowboarding Feb of this year, he went off a jump and then was not aware of a jump right after that. He ended up doing a flip and landing on his head. After a few extensive surgeries and many prayers and blessings... Sam is a C5 Quadriplegic. Which means that according to the doctors he will never walk again! he is able to use his arms but is unable to use his fingers. he has already made more progress then they thought he would! 3 weeks before this happened Sam and his wife were blessed with a baby boy named Benjamin. All that they have gone through and will is tough. Heavenly father truly knows what he is doing. Sam's wife Ashley is the perfect companion for him! She is so patient and loving! It is hard to say what i would act like if that happened to our family. I just know that they will be ETERNALLY blessed for the Faith they have shown! They have already been blessed with all the love, money, and support from friends and family!
I am grateful to be able to know such faithful people as the Harrisons!

Isn't life so unpredictable!
One day you are honky doory...and the next your not so swell. All i know is that life can change in one split second, for better or worse. Things that have happened in our lives the last 6 months have really made me appreciate all the Good and bad days that i experience, all the people and places i visit, all the things i have lost and all the things i will experience... i am so grateful for my life and those people in it! Life is so amazing. I just hope to always remember these things i feel now. Sometimes it is really hard not to get caught up in the "Worldly Things"...... nice home, nice stuff, nice cars, and all the other wants of life. i have just been thinking about these things a ton... just wanted to share my thoughts.

Mike and i adopted a wonderful little jack russell terrier from a near by shelter. The shelter said that it looks like she had puppies not too long ago and other than that she was in good health. I am really good to my doggies, at least i think so.... i took her to a local vet his name is "Dr. Roundy", i have taken toby our other JRT to him many times. Now this man is quite the crouchity man, but i have always taken his word to be true...he did after all go to school for this. anyways molly our new JRT was given a clean bill of health, he even said that she also had just had puppies. Well we planned a super fun day for memorial day! We were going to go hang out with my family at the local planetarium. Mike was woken up by molly licking a lot underneath our sheets....so he reached down and felt something round and slightly wet. So he told me to turn on the lights.... so i did and he pulled the sheets back...and there was a cute little white puppy right next to molly and not to mention right next to mikes leg!! I was so glad that she slept on his side that night! (he he). An hour later another little spotted puppy was born! Now we have TWO Little girl Jack Russell Terrier puppies! They are now about 2 weeks old! Their eyes and ears are still not open yet... i am looking forward to seeing them more active... I would love to see them go to good homes for cheap to nothing. They were 5 oz. when they were born...they are now 1 pound and 5 oz. Little fatties thats what they are!
So back to my first paragraph...life is SO UNPREDICTABLE!
But i wouldn't have it any other way!

So From what i have gathered from other peoples blog, you just Live life, take fun picture, and SHARE your little heart out. The More you Type, the better it looks, and all the more fun it is to read for others. Its like a Very IMPERSONAL journal. This should be pretty fun. I have tons to share and tons to rant about, the only problem is just finding the time to blurt it all out on the web. So here goes nothing...FIRST post Down! Woot! I think this could be quite fun....only time will tell! Plus my mom said that my grannie said she would like to see how our little family is doing. She likes to keep tabs on her grandchildren through blogger.... I guess its easy for everyone to keep tabs with things like this! :)
